Vice President of Finance

Enterprise Energy is a nationwide developer of Community Solar, focused at the intersection of clean energy deployment, climate and environmental justice, and improving the lives of the communities we serve.

Position Summary: The Vice President of Finance will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and operations of Enterprise Energy. This senior leadership role requires a strategic thinker with a robust financial background and a passion for renewable energy. The VP of Finance will oversee all financial activities, ensure the company's financial health, and provide strategic recommendations to support our growth and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies to support the company’s mission and growth objectives.

    • Lead the financial planning and analysis process, including budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning.

      • Produce periodic analyses of project or portfolio economics

    • Provide strategic recommendations to the executive team based on financial analysis and projections.

    • Periodically analyze benefits and costs of holding solar and storage assets on balance sheet compared to selling pre or post-construction. 

  • Financial Operations:

    • Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, billing, collections, and financial reporting.

      • Produce monthly internal accounting and financial reporting 

    • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.

    • Manage cash flow, including monitoring cash balances, forecasting cash needs, and optimizing cash resources.

    • Structure the financing for held solar and storage assets.

    • Lead M&A transactions on behalf of the Company.

  • Risk Management:

    • Identify and mitigate financial risks, ensuring the company’s financial stability and sustainability.

    • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the company’s assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.

    • Oversee the management of insurance programs, ensuring adequate coverage and risk mitigation.

  • Capital Management:

    • Manage relationships with banks, investors, and other financial partners to secure funding and manage debt.

      • Coordinate with capital partners on a weekly to monthly basis

        • Provide underwriting support for various capital facilities

        • Provide capital requests and reporting on a quarterly basis

      • Foster banking relationships and explore opportunities to improve EE’s various financial positions

    • Oversee capital raising activities, including equity financing, debt financing, and grants.

    • Ensure optimal capital structure to support the company’s growth and operational needs.

  • Team Leadership:

    • Create and maintain various SOP’s (standard operating procedures) on behalf of the department

    • Responsible for hiring new members of the Finance team

    • Collaborate with other departments to support cross-functional initiatives and achieve organizational goals.

  • Executive Leadership:

    • Act as a key member of the executive team, contributing to overall company strategy and decision-making.

    • Present financial performance and strategic initiatives to leadership and other stakeholders.

    • Drive financial performance to meet and exceed company goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or CPA preferred).

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, with at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership role.

    • Background in real estate or clean energy finance, solar-specific experience highly preferable.

  • Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, financial operations, and capital management.

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.

  • Excellent strategic thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Passion for renewable energy and commitment to sustainability.

  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite

  • Highly organized with good time management skills

  • Grit and determination

  • Startup mentality: quick learner, ability to think independently, “learn-it-all” vs. “know-it-all” attitude, scrappy

  • Ability to manage time efficiently across multiple projects

  • Ability to work with and be supported by other team-members for guidance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of commercial or utility-scale solar systems/concepts is strongly preferred
