Solar Project Developers

Position:  Project Developer

Compensation: $75K+ draw, plus the most competitive commission structure in the industry: ability to make $100K+ per successful project

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for overseeing all stages of distributed energy resource projects, encompassing solar power, battery energy storage, and electric vehicle charging systems, from project initiation to pre-construction phases. Primary duties include:

  1. Identifying potential project sites, negotiating site control agreements, securing project permits, managing utility interconnections, and negotiating tax agreements.

  2. Evaluating commercial sites for suitability in solar development.

  3. Formulating a persuasive value proposition that accounts for cost savings, load profiles, relevant tariffs, and diverse revenue streams.

  4. Collaborating closely with other team members to create and execute effective lead generation strategies.

  5. Cultivating enduring relationships with property owners, energy consumers, and other project stakeholders.

  6. Maintaining transparent communication with project stakeholders and local communities to facilitate permitting and related initiatives.

  7. Actively managing project schedules and budgets to ensure on-time, cost-effective project completion.

  8. Overseeing external consultants as necessary, particularly in connection with project permitting activities.

  9. Garnering support from state, county, and local governments, as well as community organizations and neighboring entities.

  10. Assisting internal finance, engineering, and construction teams in securing project financing and executing successful construction.

  11. Preparing sales presentations, proposals, and other materials as required to support project development efforts.

  12. Occasional travel and some evening and weekend work will be necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate should possess enthusiasm, self-motivation, hands-on expertise, a results-driven approach, and strong teamwork skills. Key qualifications include:

  1. Proficiency in commercial real estate prospecting, comprehension of business models, negotiation abilities, and development expertise.

  2. Two or more years of experience in the energy industry, specifically in a business development role, with a proven track record in project development.

  3. Knowledge of integrating solar and energy storage systems.

  4. Outstanding verbal and written communication capabilities.

  5. Effective leadership and collaboration skills within a team.
