Enterprise Energy Awarded Capacity for 11MWdc Community Solar Projects in Montevideo and Cottage Grove, Minnesota

Projects Mark First Multi-Megawatt Approvals Under Minnesota's LMI Community Solar Program

Minneapolis, MN – January 31, 2025 – Enterprise Energy is proud to announce that the Minnesota Department of Commerce has awarded capacity for two community solar projects located in Montevideo and Cottage Grove, Minnesota. Collectively, these projects will generate 11 megawatts direct current (MWdc) of clean energy, utilizing over 20,000 solar panels, enough to power over 2,200 homes. Notably, these are the first multi-megawatt projects approved under the state's Low- and Moderate-Income (LMI) Accessible Community Solar Garden Program.

The LMI Accessible Community Solar Garden Program, administered by the Minnesota Department of Commerce, aims to expand access to solar energy for low- and moderate-income households. These projects are committed to at least 55% of subscribers being low- or moderate-income residential customers. This initiative reflects Minnesota's commitment to equitable energy solutions and environmental justice.

In partnership with Native Sun Community Power Development, a Native-led nonprofit dedicated to promoting renewable energy, energy efficiency, and an equitable energy transition through education and workforce training, Enterprise Energy will support a new workforce development program. This collaboration aims to empower career-seekers from disadvantaged communities by providing training and employment opportunities in the growing clean energy sector.
